International Custom Fees

International shipments will be sent directly from our U.S. warehouse. Sideshow Collectibles DOES NOT collect international duties / taxes and therefore the fees are not included in your final total.

The International customer is responsible to pay an additional and separate fee for VAT, import fees and/or duties directly to the carrier at the time of delivery or via bill after delivery.

Approximate Duty on our products.
Duties vary per country. However, you can expect to pay approximately 2.7% – 6% duty on Sideshow Collectibles depending on what they are made of and classified as by your countries customs office.

Sideshow Collectibles strongly suggests that you contact you local customs office prior to receiving your shipment for VAT and Duty rates based on the specific product that you have ordered.

Some of our current import categories based on custom regulations are, but not limited to:

 1) Plastic toys, dolls, action figures, parts and accessories.

 2) Collectors models, statuary (polystone items).

Please not that individual customs offices can reclassify these categories before clearance, causing changes in the rates charged. Sideshow Collectibles can not alter the local customs decision. Any disputes on these charges must be made with your local customs office directly.

How to calculate Import fees/Duty

First, click on the following link to access a chart of all countries and their VAT/Duties rate: United States Council for International Business*

*This chart is maintained by the USCIB for reference only. Firm tax rates should be verified through your local customs office!

Many customs offices configure VAT and Duty the following way:
Total Duty & Taxes= Item price + Freight (incl. insurance) x Duty Rate (%)
Total VAT= Item price + Freight + Total Duty & Taxes x VAT(%)
Final Import Costs= Total VAT + Total Duty & Taxes + FedEx Advancement fee (Average US$5-US$20)

The brokerage fee is included with your freight cost and covers paperwork and administration of your package through customs.

The Fed Ex Advancement Fee is a charge assessed when the carrier has to pay your customs fees in advance to your government. This fee is approximately 2% of total shipment and it is paid directly to the carrier. This fee is commonly assessed to shipments into the EU regions.
